Your Nashville Weekend: The Sugar and Spice Way
You’re coming to Nashville and we don’t take that lightly.
Whether it’s your first time here or your fifth, this city has a way of pulling you into a good time if you let it. We pulled together some of our go-to spots across the city - plus a few Nashville staples we’d be doing you a disservice not to include.
This is where we actually go and...a few spots you just have to experience at least once.
Coffee & Morning Spots
Elixir Coffee
Right across from Bridgestone Arena, so there’s really no excuse not to stop here. Great coffee, quick in and out, and we’ve got a little something for you here.
We’ve got a little something for you at Elixir - check our offers page for the details.
Frothy Monkey
A Nashville staple for a reason. Full menu, multiple locations, and always reliable. If you’re not sure where to go, this is the answer.
Crema Coffee Roasters
Seriously good coffee. This is where you go when you actually care about what you’re drinking.
Cafe Babu
A thoughtfully designed, Mediterranean-inspired space that’s hard to walk past, and even harder to leave.
Surefire Coffee Co.
Good coffee, easy peasy. The Germantown location even has a walk-up window, which is a win when you’re on the move.
Matryoshka Coffee
A true hidden gem with a colorful, picturesque interior. The kind of place you feel cool for knowing about.
Quick Bites & Casual Spots
Red Headed Stranger
One of the best casual food spots in the city, full stop. Go for the breakfast tacos - the tortillas are made in-house somehow almost creamy (trust us).
Bakersfield
Right downtown and an easy call when you don’t want to overthink it. Go for the taquitos, grab a margarita, and you’re set.
Assembly Food Hall
Literally right across from Bridgestone Arena, which makes this one of the easiest options in the city. If no one can agree on what to eat, this is where you go and everyone wins.
Five Points Pizza
A Nashville staple that hits every time. Christina even had this as a midnight snack at her wedding - so yes, it’s that good.
Hattie B's Hot Chicken
Yes, it’s popular, and yes, it’s worth doing at least once. Start lighter on the heat than you think you should.
Dinner Destinations
Iggy's
Cozy, intimate, and one of our favorite dinners in the city. A bit of a splurge, but absolutely worth it - order a few pastas for the table and don’t forget the garlic bread and whipped cream cheese.
Hattie B's Hot Chicken
Yes, it’s popular, and yes, it’s worth doing at least once. Start lighter on the heat than you think you should.
The Hampton Social
Bright, lively, and made for a fun night out. It’s also very photogenic, so yes, this is your moment to get the content.
Butcher & Bee
From the team behind Redheaded Stranger, this is where things get a little more elevated. Order a few plates and share everything.
Barcelona
A lively Edgehill Village spot for tapas, good wine, and a night that tends to stretch a little longer than planned. Order a few things, then a few more.
Late Night Eats
Dino's
Zero frills, great burger. An East Nashville staple that always delivers late.
Daddy's Dogs
You’ll probably run into a Daddy’s Dogs stand at some point during your night out, and when you do, remember their motto: size matters.
Midnight Oil
A solid late-night option when you’re not quite ready to call it. Pizza, frosé, and suddenly you’re not leaving yet.
Cocktail Bars
The Patterson House
One of the best cocktails in the city. They’ve recently relocated, and while we haven’t made it to the new space yet, the drinks have always been incredible. Start here if you want to do it right.
Flamingo Cocktail Lounge
Disco lights, neon glow, and energy that pulls you in. One of the more fun cocktail spots in the city - and one that has a special place in our hearts since it’s home to our monthly Sugar and Spice Book Club.
Old Glory
Set in a converted underground boiler room. Worth it for the space alone. The drinks just make it better.
Bastion
Elevated cocktails paired with unexpectedly great nachos. A small, intimate spot that’s worth going out of your way for.
Barrel Proof
If you’re into whiskey, this is your spot. Expansive collection, laid-back vibe, and an easy place to hang for a while. A Mr. Spice favorite.
Honky Tonks & Dive Bars
Robert's Western World
This place feels like Nashville. If you only do one Broadway bar, make it this - and yes, you’re ordering the Recession Special.
Miranda Lambert's Casa Rosa
While we'll personally always be missing Crazy Town (RIP)... Casa Rosa is a worthy successor. Three floors, a rooftop, and — perhaps most importantly — a whole lot of pink. Basically made for us.
The Stage
A Broadway classic that's been around long enough to earn its reputation. There's live music in every single bar on Broadway, but it hits a little different here. Maybe it's the crowd, maybe it's the energy — we can't explain it, but you'll feel it.
Losers
Full disclosure: Christina met Mr. Spice here, so we are completely and unapologetically biased. It's in Midtown, so you'll need to grab an Uber or commit to the walk - but it's worth it.
Red Door Saloon
While you're in Midtown, make a stop here too. Fair warning: find the hole in the floor before you leave - we'll leave it at that.
